This Collage Life

FreedomalmostprivaGodGirls and GuysFridgeChristChinaMessageHide
The other day I was hanging out with my friend Yulanda.  We recalled the visual journals that we started keeping at school and how important they are.  Mostly because I LOVE collage - it's how I like life.  Little bits of past, present, and future all mashed up together.

The visual journals (the Goodbye Books) act as a detailed non-linear timeline.  Above are stills of a recent book (the 7th!).  I've also added in photos of my bulletin board, wall and fridge where the collage has spilled out.  If you'd like to see them larger - just give them a click.

Gawrsh, Alyssa -- I see a certain drawing of a certain toque on there! I'm subtly honoured. These rule, by the by.

Also, I have intrusive questions to ask you about the kind of paste you use.

I love that toque. the drawing and the real deal. It's my slouchy hat now (yes it does not fall off anymore). Ali says that she sometimes wants to call me dude because of said slouchy hat. I encourage this.

I use a glue stick. The cheapest one I can find at Shoppers Drug Mart, the airport or an international 7-11 (they look the same in every country!!) Also I use a variety of tapes ranging from invisible scotch, duct, masking, to double sided. Sometimes I use paint when paste is not available.
